An urgent care visit may also save you time and money.

Unnecessary emergency room visits can be a real hassle and can leave you stuck with a big bill you don’t need. That’s where urgent care comes in.

Health Plan of Nevada and Sierra Health and Life contract with more than 35 urgent care centers conveniently located across the Las Vegas Valley, including two that are open 24 hours. By visiting an urgent care, you may save time and money and get the health care you need.

How to know if it’s URGENT or an EMERGENCY

Urgent Care conditions are non life-threatening and may include:

  • Ear infections
  • Colds and other respiratory problems including coughs and congestion
  • Sprains and strains
  • Most abdominal pain
  • Vomiting and diarrhea
  • Most cuts, burns, fevers and back pain

Emergency Room visits are for the sudden onset of a life-threatening condition and may include:

  • Serious burns
  • Major trauma
  • Poisoning
  • Serious breathing difficulties
  • Heavy bleeding
  • Severe chest pain
  • Sudden paralysis

If you have a life-threatening situation, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room right away.

Urgent Care Locations

When you need care quickly, but it’s not an emergency and your regular doctor is not available, find an urgent care location near you. Visit Health Plan of Nevada or Sierra Health and Life.*

Some urgent cares may have holiday hours. Locations, hours of operation and contracted providers subject to change.

Urgent cares are not intended to address emergency or life-threatening medical conditions. Please call 911 or go to the emergency room under those circumstances.

*If you live outside of the Southern Nevada area, visit your health plan’s website.

Health Plan of Nevada and Sierra Health and Life contract with several hospitals in the Las Vegas Valley.

You need to get care from in-network (contracted) providers to receive benefit coverage, except for emergency services and urgent care. To receive benefit coverage, ask your providers to use a network lab for any tests or diagnostic imaging services, such as X-rays, MRIs and CT scans.

Going to a non-contracted hospital may result in you being responsible for hospital charges/bills. Visit HealthPlanofNevada.com or SierraHealthandLife.com for a list of contracted providers near you.

For life-threatening emergencies, dial 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room.
